"Fields of Yunnan" has been influenced by my life growing up in Fairfield, a diverse Sydney suburb that celebrates the culture, colour and cuisine of South East Asia. My journey explores the beautifully terraced rice fields of Yunnan in China. The tiered landscape is distinguished by colour, texture and form, an eclectic mix of many different rice plants, growing and filling the mountain with a vibrant and glorious palette. The layers and colours of these rice-fields represent the beauty and diversity of the East and West, an assimilation of cultures and traditions existing side by side in Western Sydney.
